Ryan Salame, a co-CEO at FTX, bought $6 million of restaurants and real estate in Lenox, Massachusetts. A local newspaper reported last year that Salame owned almost half the town's restaurants. As first reported by local news outlet The Berkshire Eagle, Ryan Salame, who was co-CEO at FTX Digital Markets, invested $6 million in restaurants and real estate in Lenox. Bankman-Fried has been accused of funneling customer funds into his trading firm, Alameda, and using some customer money to buy luxury real estate and fund political donations. The Wall Street Journal also reported that Salame vomited upon hearing about FTX's impending collapse.

The researchers found that high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides “modestly” predicted heart disease risk among both Black and White adults. But they suggest that more work is needed to understand what’s driving the racial differences in the link between HDL and heart disease risk. And in the meantime, current clinical assessments for heart disease risk “may misclassify risk in Black adults, potentially hindering optimal cardiovascular disease prevention and management programs for this group,” they wrote.

An Illinois father died after he fell out of a car while helping his 12-year-old daughter collect food items for her Girl Scout troop. The family, from New Lenox, was driving around a neighborhood on Nov. 6 when Aaron LaMore fell from the open hatchback where he was riding with his daughter, Mia LaMore, the family told Patch. Talaga told Patch that LaMore was "selfless" and always willing to help others. "We tried to turn a terrible situation into a situation that gives us a little sense of peace," the brother-in-law said. LaMore leaves behind his wife of 16 years, Erin LaMore, and their daughter.

The Soniat House hotel in New Orleans, one of the properties Ken Fulk and Clark Lyda have taken over with their company InHouse. In 1903 turpentine magnate Robert Paterson and his wife, Marie Louise Paterson, moved into a new mansion in the Berkshires filled with art and antiques, on 130 wooded acres on the edge of Lenox, Massachusetts. They named their stately pile Blantyre, after a village in Scotland, Robert’s native country. Following Robert’s 1917 death, the palatial spread changed hands many times, passing in and out of bankruptcy as it became a country club, before emerging in the 1980s as a genteel resort famous for its encyclopedic wine cellar and ambitious white-tablecloth cooking. Though renovations over the years sapped some of the time-capsule splendor of the Paterson home, the historic bones of the building were still largely intact when designer Ken Fulk and property developer Clark Lyda purchased the hotel last year.
